Quiluma & Mabuqueiro

The Quiluma & Maboqueiro (Q&M) Project is Angola’s first non-associated gas development, led by Saipem for the Azule Energy consortium. The project includes offshore production platforms, a 5 km pipeline network connecting to the Gas Treatment Plant (GTP), and the Angola LNG terminal for gas export.

Construction involves over 1,750 NDT-tested welds, 9,000 m³ of excavation, and multiple coated pipelines, including cement-weighted sections for river crossing, installed using the open-cut method. Additional systems include fiber optic lines and condensate pipelines, ensuring full integration of gas processing and transport infrastructure.

ISOR in the Q&M Project

ISOR provided specialized subsea support services for the Quiluma & Maboqueiro Gas Project, executed for Mecwide under the Saipem / Azule Energy consortium. The scope included shallow-water pipe laying operations in the Cadal and Pangui rivers, performed through autonomous diving systems supported by surface teams. ISOR was responsible for the marking and signaling of existing pipelines, installation of anchors for lateral stability, controlled release of flotation buoys, and precise placement of the pipeline within pre-defined trenches, followed by batimetric verification.

All activities were executed under strict QHSE management and international offshore standards, with zero incidents or safety deviations reported throughout the operation. The project reinforced ISOR’s reputation for technical excellence, operational reliability, and strong environmental and safety performance in complex subsea construction environments.
